Description:
In February the company announced that Apartment Investment and Management Co. (AIMCO), a Denver-based real estate investment trust, agreed to acquire all common stock shares of NHP Inc. owned by Demeter Holdings Corp., an affiliate of Harvard University, and Capricorn Investments L.P. Together, Demeter and Capricorn own a controlling 54.9 percent of the public company. AIMCO also has agreed to acquire certain multifamily real estate of NHP Partners Inc. from Demeter and Capricorn, but this is subject to NHP's right of first refusal. In addition, NHP agreed to merge with AIMCO.
