Ethnic Albanian refugees on a slippery mountain track return to their houses in Petrovo on January 20, after spending up to four days in the mountains overlooking the village. Thousands of villagers fled into surrounding hills or to neighboring villages in sub-freezing temperatures to escape Serb police attacks and Yugoslav army shelling of fighters of the separatist KLA.
