Occupation/Employer: Railroad Conductor, Conrail Corp. Elected Offices and Civic Activities:Member of United Transportation Union; active in recent conference and demonstrations in support of black farmers' lawsuit against discrimination by the Department of Agriculture. Helped build the July 25 District demonstration calling for independence for Puerto Rico and freedom of the 15 Puerto Rican political prisoners incarcerated in U.S. jails. Why should voters elect you? "My campaign urges working people to break from the parties of the ruling rich – the Democrats and Republicans – and chart a course of independent political action. What's needed is a workers and farmers government to advance our interests, not those of the exploiters. I call for statehood for D.C. and for abolishing the financial control board. Jobs for all. For 30 hours work at 40 hours pay to spread available work around. Defend the Cuban revolution. End the U.S. embargo. Lift the travel ban. Condemn Clinton's bombings of Sudan and Afghanistan. U.S. hands off Iraq. NATO troops out of Yugoslavia."
